In 2008 we done a charity martial marathon helping to raise money for the NSPCC and RNLI. This time around I would like to try and raise funds for the club and the RNLI. The date is Saturday 24th July 2010 starting at noon and finishing at noon on Sunday 25th July, the event will be held at Wimbotsham Village Hall. Sunday classes will still be as normal, even if the teachers are slightly tired. This will be open to all adults and juniors by approval only, of any grade.
During the 24hours we will cover Kata, Bunkai, Theory, Meditation, Weapons and anything else that takes our fancy. Juniors will be given a mandatory rest period between 1am and 6am, at all other times adults and juniors will train together. Adults can take up to an hour each as a power knap, usually taken between 3am and 6am, although as it will be the height of summer, the daylight will hopefully keep people going. The event is open to anyone from the club who has a valid WKD licence.
Please note that 24 hours sounds easy but both mentally and physically it is very tough, not something to be taken lightly. I will be limiting numbers and hoping to have a mix of male and female, adult and junior participants. Please see me if you wish to have a go as it might not be suitable for everybody and I will advise acordingly.
